Don't Touch the Christmas Tree

Whatever you do.... be careful around the Christmas tree. Our Christmas tree stand died just an hour after the dishwasher on Sunday night. It was leaning precariously when our Home Teachers were over. After they left, Shane crawled under the tree and I lifted it straight up. (Yeah....that was fun!) And he pronounced the stand DEAD!

We shoved the tree into the corner against the back the wall in the corner and there it has remained. And there it WILL remain until Christmas tree stands go on sale after Christmas. (Actually, it's finally standing pretty straight now!)

What would life be like without all these little jokes?

BORING!!!!! :)

p.s. Exercise update: 3 mile RUN in 35:14 minutes
1 mile walk in under 18 minutes with hills and irritation thrown in...
lots of fun and lots of sweat!

Wow- first the appliances, now the tree stand. Whatever bug you've caught in your house.. don't share it!!
Waiting until after Christmas to buy a new stand sounds like something I would do!!

Wait a minute . . . tree stands aren't appliances! Someone's got it all messed up! Good luck with the "Don't touch the Christmas Tree" rule. In our house, it's the main attraction right now! I've just had to resign myself to the fact that I'm going to find ornaments everywhere around my house, (probably for months afterward) and that I'll have to straigten the tree skirt eighteen-million times per day, (or else just wait until after bed time and do it once!)

Oh the days of ugly Christmas trees- everything decorated 1/2 way up, and the unbreakable ornaments at the bottom. I miss those days- we are now into the kids decorating the tree - hmmm- it's beautiful.

Our pre-lit Christmas tree is otherwise naked. My kids have stripped it clean. Also, the tree skirt is perpetually askew. That's about as festive as we can get around here!

I bet if we looked real hard, I may have a tree stand in my house. You know I have everything. Maybe this weekend I can do some scouting around and try and find it. We have not needed one for several years.

You know, if you look really hard we might have our tree up before Christmas . . .

Wow, and we were frustrated by a broken dishwasher. I'm glad we're us right now. Whenever I start to feel bad, I'll think of you.
